Firewise
What is Firewise?
Firewise is a voluntary program that provides a framework to help neighbors get organized, find direction, and take action to increase the ignition resistance of their homes and community.

The Greater Oakridge-Westfir Area and the City of Oakridge are both Firewise communities!
To maintain our Firewise status, the community must document annual volunteer hours. Firewise hours include homeowner work such as:
-
Mowing the lawn
-
Removing leaves, debris, and flammable materials from roofs, gutters, and decks
-
Relocating firewood piles at least 30 feet from the home
-
Helping neighbors Firewise their property
-
Dropping off yard debris at the Oakridge Westfir Yard Debris program, see flyer below.
